Esports is set to be a part of the Ashaiman District Sports Festival to be hosted by the Assemblies of God Church in Michel Camp on Monday, April 18.
Speaking exclusively to EAN, Game Turf Manager, Desmond Akpaglo, revealed that this will be the first time esports will be at the event
“It’s an Assemblies of God, Ashaiman yearly district games happening on Easter Monday and for the first time, esports has been added to the program. Which I see to be good step for the [esports] fraternity.”
“This is part of our [Game Turf] esports awareness campaign. There will be inter-church competitions in FIFA 22 & MK11, FQA interviews and other many other fun esports activities.”
This event is another small step forward for Ghana esports and comes after the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) launched its very own esports club to focus on the development side of the gaming industry.
