African esports platform Gamr has announced it will be organising a PUBG Mobile (PUBGM) tournament dubbed the ‘Wazobia Cup’ from July 18 to August 12.

Registration for the online competition is already open and will end on July 15. The tournament will see teams battle it out for a slice of the $1,000 prize pool.

Below are the rules for the upcoming event;

1. Register players whose account is at level 35 or higher.

2. Register players who are in the same clan (60%) with matching insignia (100%).

3. Register a roster containing a minimum of 4 players and a maximum of 6 players (60% African residents).

4. Register a maximum of one (1) team per ORGANIZATION or CLAN.

5. Ensure players JOIN rooms in time, and remain in their respective SLOT (failure to do so results in automatic TP DEDUCTION of up to 10 points).

6. A minimum of three players in a team is allowed to play a match.

7. ONLY WEBSITE/APP REGISTRATION GUARANTEES A SLOT (PROVIDED SLOTS ARE NOT FILLED)

8. Maintain their registered name, insignia and clan, which can only be changed if permitted by the organizers.

9. Avoid any form of Hacking, using unregistered players, TOXIC and ABUSIVE words and intentionally Exploiting bugs as it’ll result in an automatic disqualification for the team caught in the act.

10. Avoid the use of flares, all mic and abusive word

11. The use of EMULATORS and iPADs are NOT allowed.

12. Players are required to have all the maps. Any player who doesn’t have the required map on match day would be kicked out of the room.

13. Enquiries or Questions are to be stated by opening tickets in ( #🔹│support ), failure to adhere to this will attract sanctions.

14. Only TEAM MANAGER(S) are allowed to open a ticket regarding the tournament on behalf of the team.

WAZOBIA CUP ’22 QUALIFICATION OR PROMOTIONAL BASIS:

REG OPENS: JULY 1ST (12PM WAT)

REG CLOSES: JULY 15TH (12PM WAR)

STAGE ONE:

80 teams divided into 4 lOBBIES of 20 teams each and 5 GROUPS (A, B, C, D, E), whereby the top 8 teams from each lobby qualify for the next round after playing a total of 4 matches each.

STAGE TWO:

32 teams divided into 4 lobbies/groups of 8 teams each, whereby the top 16 overall placed teams from qualifies for the next round after playing a total of 12 matches.

STAGE THREE / SEMI FINALS:

24 (16 from STAGE 2 and TOP 8 GCC’22 FINALISTS) teams divided into 3 lobbies consisting of 4 teams each (ABCDE), whereby the top 16 overall placed teams qualify for the final stage after each team plays a total of 16 matches

FINALE:

16 teams form a single lobby, where the top 3 teams emerge as the winner after playing a total of 16 matches and the top 8/16 qualify for other main events to be disclosed on later dates after playing a total of 16 matches.

NOTE:

Invited teams (TOP 8 GCC”22 FINALISTS) will be notified via invitations on how and what to do regarding the event; however, if a team declines the invitation, the next team on the leaderboard (GCC”22) will automatically be assigned the slot.

POINT SYSTEM:

1st Place = 15 Points

2nd Place = 12 Points

3rd Place = 10 Points

4th Place = 8 Points

5th Place = 6 Points

6th Place = 4 Points

7th Place = 2 Points

8th Place = 1 Points

9th Place = 1 Points

10th Place = 1 Point

11th Place = 1 Point

12th Place = 1 Point

13th – 24th = 0 Point.

1 Kill = 1 Point.
