The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has revealed that they will be renaming the national efootball team, the Black Comets.

This comes following the association’s decision to give names to four of the unnamed national football teams with the Executive Committee (EC) of the GFA deciding on bestowing the Black Comets’ name to the national boys’ U-15 team.

This means the national efootball team is currently without a name, however, the GFA has stated that the team will be renamed.

The Ghana efootball team were first given the name “Black Comets” at the end of the GFA eTrophy Championships back in May as the association picked its first-ever team to compete at the FIFAe Nations Series.

The team made up of GFA eTrophy Championship winner, Prince Jonas, Habibu “Flow Burner Frass” Sulley and Frank “Wondhakid” Kpakpo would make their first appearance at the 2022 FIFAe Middle East and Africa (MENA) Qualifiers to battle for a spot at the Grand Finals to be held in Denmark.

The then Black Comets team would get knocked out in the Group Stage of the MENA Qualifiers after securing 4 points of a possible 24. However, they would pick up their first-ever victory at the competition beating eventual group winners South Africa 3-0.
