HEET qualifies for ESL Pro League
After four long days, and four difficult series, Belgium esports organisation HEET have managed to secure a place in the ESL Pro League Season 16 group stage.
HEET’s journey towards qualification started off rocky as the team lost to Endpoint 2-0 in two very close maps (16-12 in Overpass and 16-12 in Dust2).
The defeat saw the team fall down to the lower bracket, where they would defeat Encore 2-0 before facing off against HUMMER who the Belgian side had to defeat in order to stay alive in the tournament.
Inferno was a very close map, but the HEET team showed their resilience coming out on top 22-19 to take the series lead.
Dust2 was a different story, as the team managed to take control of the game in the second half on their CT-Side, comfortably taking the map 16-11, to advance to the Lower Round 3.
The team would then take on Falcons who were able to secure the first map, with a good CT-Side winning Dust2 16-13. On Nuke HEET would dominate on the T-Side, quickly taking control of the game, and never letting it slip.
Falcons still tried to mount a comeback but it was too little too late and HEET tied the series with a 16-10 win on Nuke.
Vertigo was the last match of the series and HEET put on an amazing performance, dominating the game from start to finish, winning the map 16-4 and securing their place in the ESL Pro League Season 16.
“The team that went without an organisation and support for a very long time just qualified to the highest level of counterstrike today.” A statement by HEET read “We have entered counterstrike at the beginning of this year and have had lots of heights and some lows.”
“Especially when you don’t qualify it can be hard on a team and organisation, these guys have proven to beat all these challenges and overcome whatever obstacle came our way.”
