On Tuesday, August 30, gaming and esports media firm Nazara Technologies Private Limited announced the acquisition of US-based Wildworks for $10.4 million, or approximately ₹820 million.

The all-cash deal will see Wildworks founders Clark Stacey and Jeff Amis continue in their current roles as CEO and COO, respectively, and continue to steer the company through its ensuing era of expansion.

Speaking about their recent acquisition, the Managing Director (MD) of Nazara Private Limited, Nitish Mittersain said “We have acquired Wildworks for $10.4 million and we can now help them in scaling up their operations.”

“When we acquired Kiddopia it had revenue of around ₹300 million ($3.8 million). In three years we have scaled it up to ₹2 billion ($25 million). We expect the same momentum with Apple Jam. The current revenue of WildWorks is ₹900 million ($11.3 million) and they are a profitable venture.”

Nitish Mittersain also spoke about Wildworks’ Apple Jam IP which he states is an adjacent segment to their organisation’s learning vertical “This acquisition brings Apple Jam IP of Wildworks which is a gamified learning platform for children in the age of 8-12 years. It is an adjacent segment for our learning vertical.”

Wildworks CEO Clark Stacey also spoke about the acquisition calling it the next phase of the company’s growth “Joining Nazara enables a new phase of growth and international reach for Wildworks and our games.”

“Our company goal has always been ‘Fun with Substance.’ So, of paramount importance for us, was finding a partner who shared our commitment to improving kids’ lives through play and earning the trust of parents. We immediately resonated with the Nazara team and respect the commitment they’ve already made to kids through Paper Boat Apps and Kiddopia”

Founded back in 2003 by Clark Stacey and Kris Johnson, Wildworks is a well-known game developer who mainly focuses on the age group between 8 and 12, developing games such as Animal Jam, Pac-Man World Rally, Bee Movie Game, and many others.
