Team Rapid win Pizza Hut Champions Cup
Team Rapid are the Valorant Pizza Hut Champions Cup kings after defeating YaLLa Esports 2-0 (Ascent – 13:8; Haven – 13:9) in the Grand Finals on June 23.
The Pizza Hut Champions Cup was held completely online from June 15 – 23 and saw eight teams from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region battle it out for the $15,000 prize pool.
Team Rapid kicked off the competition by defeating 01 Esports (2:1) and vSlash Esports (2:1) on their way to the Grand Finals. In the Finals, the team outplayed their United Arab Emirates (UAE) based opposition to claim the $7,000 first-place prize.
It should be noted that the third place went to the vSlash Esports team, which in a separate match turned out to be stronger than Team Falcons with a score of 2:0 (Ascent – 16:14; Haven – 13:10), thus earning a prize of $3,000.
Below are the final standing of the Pizza Hut Champions Cup;
- 1st place: Team Rapid – $7,000.
- 2nd place: YaLLa Esports – $5,000.
- 3rd place: vSlash Esports — $3,000
- 4th place: Team Falcons.
- 5th-8th place: AlphaA, HighBack, 01 Esports and The Spark Esports.
