Eugene Mensah Asare popularly known as “FizzyDipsy1” dominated at the Invitational Mortal Kombat (MK) tournament dubbed the “Chosen Championship” on Saturday, June 4.

The championship was powered by Gold Standard Gaming (GSG) in partnership with the Esports Association, Ghana (EAG) and PlayArena in honour of Sebastian “Chosen 1” Burton’s visit to the nation.

The Chosen Championship was an invitational tournament which brought together 16 of Ghana’s best MK gamers to battle at the lovely Otium Game Hub in East Legon, Accra, to secure a slice of the GH₵2,000 ($255) prize pool.

FizzyDipsy1 would defeat all in his path to the Grand Final of the tournament where he faced off against Emmanuel Antwi-Boasiako also known as “ZAR,” defeating him to claim the Chosen Championship crown.

Ghana’s MK rep for the Gamr X tournament, Mahadi Abubakar also known as “GR Assasin” would finish as the 2nd runner up, repeating his feat at the 10-nation tournament.

The Chosen Championship was FizzyDipsy1’s first tournament since signing for the Ghanaian esports team, PlayProvince on May 31. Who becomes the team’s first MK gamer, as PlayProvince looks to continue its march towards dominating the national esports stage.
