Ghanaian esports organisation, Xplosion, officially announced the signing of Stephen Otoo on Wednesday, July 6, adding to their ever-growing list of acquisitions.

Stephen joins Xplosion as a FIFA gamer, earning his spot in the team after dominating during Xplosion Esports founder AllGamesGH‘s Justify Your Inclusion FIFA Trial held on Sunday, July 3.

The FIFA gamer, in the presence of his father, signed a three-year deal with the newly founded esports team, becoming the side’s third acquisition after the likes of FIFA gamer Eugene “Genie” Asante and Mortal Kombat star Mahadi “Assassin” Abubakar.

Speaking about the new signing, in an exclusive interview with EAN, Marvin Akowuah-Dantey, Chairman of AllGamesGH, revealed that he is looking forward to seeing how the player develops with the team.

“We did know about Otoo as he had competed and won an earlier edition of a local tournament held at AllGamesGH. Our aim as a team is to train these lads, and we hope they develop well enough to be able to compete at the top.”

Stephen obviously won’t be the last signing for Xplosion. However, many may be surprised by the team’s next addition as Chairman of AllGamesGH, Marvin Akowuah-Dantey, also revealed that the team will be looking to bring in more youngsters.

“At Xplosion, we believe in development and we are hoping to sign a few youngsters. Some of these boys are in school, and we are talking to their parents and guardians.”

Marvin, however, didn’t reject the idea of signing more notable names like Assassin and Genie, stating, “We are also talking to a few very big-name signings, but we won’t sign many of them. It may be just one or two.”

Xplosion Esports was launched back in May and the team is set to unveil its FIFA and Mortal Kombat (MK) teams during an upcoming ShopGH esports tournament.
